RaffleAid Day 5 – Searching for a Homeless Shelter

On Day 5 of RaffleAid, we revisited Scott, who recently moved into shared accommodation after being homeless. While this was a step in the right direction, he’s still struggling—his place has no electricity, no hot water, and no money for food. This highlights a harsh reality: getting off the streets isn’t enough—people need real, sustainable support.

Why We Need a Shelter

After hearing Scott’s story, we knew we had to do more than just temporary aid. That’s why we spent the day looking for a warehouse that could serve as a RaffleAid HQ, providing:

✅ Shelter – A safe space with beds for those in need.

✅ Food & Supplies – A storage hub for essentials like sleeping bags and canned food.

✅ Lockers – Secure storage for personal belongings.

✅ Support Services – Long-term help, including mental health support and rehabilitation.

Our Next Steps

We’ve started reaching out to property owners and the local council to find the right space for this initiative. The goal is to create a sustainable support system that moves people off the streets permanently.
