RaffleAid Day 6 – Searching for a Homeless Shelter

On Day 6 of RaffleAid, we took a major step forward in our mission to provide a safe space for Manchester’s homeless community. We viewed two potential warehouse locations, exploring how they could serve as:

✅ Shelter & beds for those in need 🛏️

✅ A food storage & distribution hub 🍞

✅ Secure lockers to keep belongings safe 🔒

✅ A support centre for mental health & job assistance 💙

The Challenge

Finding the right location isn’t easy. Many warehouses are in high-demand areas, making them expensive or difficult to secure for a homeless shelter. Some landlords may hesitate to lease a space for this purpose. However, we are determined to find a solution.

What’s Next?

We are actively working with landlords, property agents, and the council to find a suitable space. The goal is to start small with a storage hub and expand into a full shelter and support center.
