Raffle Aid Vlog 2: Growing Our Mission & Supporting More People

After our first day of Raffle Aid, we knew we had to do more. This time, we set out to double our impact, distributing four full survival kits—each containing a sleeping bag, tent, and mat—to people experiencing homelessness in Manchester.

But the day took a different turn when we met Scott.

Scott’s Story: A Harsh Reality of the System

Scott has been homeless for years due to circumstances beyond his control. After losing his father and stepbrother in a short span, he was denied housing assistance because he was considered to have made himself “intentionally homeless” by leaving his previous home to care for his dad.

Despite the challenges, Scott didn’t give up. He found a private landlord willing to rent to him, but the struggle to afford food and basic living expenses continued.

To help him transition into stable housing, we donated £100 for food and essentials. Scott was also eager to help us in future Raffle Aid initiatives, proving that people experiencing homelessness want opportunities to rebuild their lives—they just need a chance.

More Than Just Donations—Creating Real Change

While we didn’t give out all the sleeping bags today, the conversations we had shaped our next steps. We’re now:

✔️ Partnering with charities like Mustard Tree to expand our efforts

✔️ Setting up regular outreach days to provide direct help

✔️ Encouraging conversations that help break the stigma around homelessness

We’re still learning and growing, but one thing is clear—this is more than just a charity. It’s a movement.

Join the Movement

Every time a new client launches a Reffle® raffle website, a portion of the profits funds Raffle Aid, helping people like Scott get back on their feet.

Stay tuned for Day 3, where we’ll continue to refine our mission, help more people, and expand our reach.
