Day 1 of Raffle Aid: Our Mission to Help the Homeless Begins

Today marks the beginning of something special—Raffle Aid is officially in motion.

For those who don’t know, Raffle Aid is a charity dedicated to helping the homeless, starting with Manchester. We believe that everyone deserves basic human needs: warmth, shelter, food,

and security. It’s unacceptable that in 2024, people are still sleeping rough in a modern society.

Why We Started Raffle Aid

Every day, we walk past people who have nowhere to go, no warm place to sleep, and no certainty about their future. Instead of waiting for someone else to take action, we decided to do it ourselves.

We don’t have all the answers yet. We don’t know the full extent of the red tape or the long-term process. But what we do know is that we can start today.

Our company, Reffle®, builds raffle websites. With every new client, we donate a portion of our profits to Raffle Aid to fund direct action for homeless people. The more we grow, the more we give back.

What We Did on Day 1

Our first step was simple but powerful—get high-quality sleeping bags, tents, and mats and personally deliver them to those who need them most.

We headed into Manchester city centre, unsure of how people would react. We met Mustafa and Robin, two individuals who had been sleeping rough for months. Their gratitude reminded us why we’re doing this—small actions can have a huge impact on someone’s life.

🏕 What we provided:

✔️ High-quality sleeping bags (not the cheap ones—we wanted them to last)

✔️ Tents to stay dry in the freezing cold

✔️ Insulated mats to prevent the ground from absorbing body heat

✔️ Hand warmers for extra warmth

The Bigger Goal

While today was just the beginning, this is not where it ends. Our vision for Raffle Aid is massive.

We don’t just want to hand out supplies—we want to create a real solution. Our dream is to build a space where the homeless can sleep, eat, and receive support to rebuild their lives.

It’s a big mission, but we’re determined to make it happen.
